John has over 25 years of experience in the industry including 11 years at the Virginia Tech Pallet and Packaging Lab. He began his work with the pallet and packaging industry at Virginia Tech, earning his B.S. and M.S. degrees while working at the Virginia Tech Pallet & Container Research Laboratory. Following graduation, he served as a Research Associate at the Lab, then as the first Director of the VT Center for Unit Load Design. In 2001, John left Virginia Tech for private industry and now serves as Technical Director at The Nelson Company, a global pallet and packaging solutions supplier. John’s roles at Nelson include technical advisor, cost savings assessments, performance audits, and consulting.
